Project Details
Reedley College's mission is to cultivate opportunities that empower students and communities through engaging, equity-minded programs and services. This goal served as Team FD's main inspiration behind the furniture selection for the renovation of multiple on-campus spaces including the Career & Employment Center (CEC).
Utilizing mobile furniture featuring Reedley College's distinct Tiger orange, flexible classroom spaces allow students to meet with mentors and potential employers comfortably in various settings. Custom storage and causal seating are incorporated as a resource area and provide students with a soft place to land while checking out current career opportunities. Coordinating storage and vibrant carpet tiles tie Clyde's Closet - a professional attire "library" available for students to borrow for interviews and career prep activities - to the rest of the CEC, creating a cohesive, professional look throughout the space. Staff members are also supported with modular work spaces, allowing each individual to set up their office in a unique configuration that works best for them. Creative design features like suspended acoustical clouds and whiteboard table surfaces add to the functionality of Reedley College's multi-use spaces while also contributing to its youthful aesthetic and provides visual interest.
